My uncle John, what a shock!
I could not have asked for a better uncle and brother to my dad. You were always filling the room with jokes and your crude sense of humour - turning all negative situations into light hearted banter!
I see a lot of my dad in you so feel as if you haven’t really left after all! I think I am noticing this now more than ever.
You were such a loving, caring man - making friends everywhere you went. No wonder you were so popular! I have really enjoyed looking through old photo albums and hearing many stories about you from dad that I hadn’t before.
My last memory of you is when you slipped me an envelope with some money in and whispered ‘don’t tell your father’! I Still can’t believe you are gone & will never ever forget you.
Sending love & the biggest hugs to you wherever you are now & I hope that you are at peace wherever that may be.
Love Alice xx

I will always remember when we visited John and Lucy one afternoon back in 2015. We were sat on the back decking area looking out over the garden and the fields. Since I was very young, there is a certain way that the clouds part and the sun shines through the clouds....for some reason I always thought this was a little glimpse of the entrance to heaven. The day we were with John and Lucy watching the clouds they did this very thing, so I commented on my child like thought, and John said 'Oh yes I remember, the clouds did that the day I got the news about your father'. It has stuck with me forever that he said that or even remembered it, but it was beautiful. xx You have been a wonderful support for my mum, and us over the last 20 years xx Lots of love
